Panasonic Lumix DMC-L1 Digital SLR Camera
-
Panasonic enters the mounting market for high-end digital SLR cameras with the indomitable Lumix DMC-L1 Four Thirds System with interchangeable-lens
- Combining the operating feel of a traditional SLR camera with the innovative features unique to digital camera technology, the L1 features Secure Digital storage, a large 2.5 inch LCD screen and a Supersonic Wave Filter to remove dust from in front of the camera sensor for spot-free photos
- The L1 also features a shutter speed dial on the top of the camera body to enhance the sense of manual control, while its Leica lens (14-50mm equivalent) is equipped with an aperture ring, focus ring and zoom ring, for easy, direct aperture setting
- And there's Panasonic's renowned MEGA OIS to minimise blurring from camera shake at full zoom
- Developed in conjunction with Olympus, the L1 shares a strong resemblance to the Olympus E330, including its internal mechanics, optical subsystem (lens mount, mirror box, viewfinder, auto focus and exposure sensors) and its groundbreaking 7.5 megapixel live MOS sensor with full-time live view
- This live view sensor allows you to frame shots without a viewfinder, just like on a digital camera
- The TTL Optical Porro design enables a full time live view mode with incorporated AF and a B mode' macro live view with manual mode functionality, all of which is enhanced by the large 2.5 inch LCD
- The L1 also benefits from advanced image processing via the LSI Venus Engine III
- Subject movement and light are automatically detected while ISO setting and shutter speed are adjusted automatically for optimum results
- The Four Thirds lens mount on the L1 is also compatible with the existing range of over 30 conversion lenses from Olympus and Sigma.
